Michael Obyc Named Collier County Senior Sports Marketing Ma
Naples, Fla. (January 25, 2016) – The Naples, Marco Island, Everglades Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) is pleased to announce that Michael Obyc is joining the tourism bureau as Senior Sports Marketing Manager. Obyc will work closely with Collier County Parks & Recreation as well as local and national governing bodies to retain and solicit sports tourism events in Collier County.
Obyc joins the CVB with extensive credentials, working for ESPN Wide World of Sports, The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA), and most recently the Central Florida Sports Commission. The opportunity to work with a myriad of sports organizations has enabled Obyc to amass a vast amount of experience in the industry. His experience extends to sporting events including the Disney Endurance Series, the MLBPAA Legends for Youth Clinic Series, and the Florida High School Athletic Association Football State Championships.
“I am excited to join the CVB to continue their growth as a premier destination for many types of sports events,” Obyc said.
Obyc is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications and was also a member of the University of Cincinnati Bearcats baseball team. Obyc went on to receive a Master's Degree in Sports Administration from Xavier University. Obyc is a native of Columbus, Ohio and has recently relocated to Naples from Orlando, Fla.
