Nominations must be submitted to the online awards page by the deadline of August 5, 2016.Nominations submitted in writing and not entered into the online system will NOT be accepted and cannot be read by the judges.

Please make sure the events, occurrences or comments that justify your nomination took place between August 15, 2015 and August 1, 2016. Please do not duplicate a nomination from a previous year. Only current award period nominations are eligible.

Please review the nominations categories as there are updates to the list this year.

The Hospitality Above & Beyond Award has been eliminated, as this is a quality highlighted for each and every award category. The CVB department awards, previously selected by staff, are now open for nominations. These include the Sales Star, PR & Communications Star and Sports Star awards. A winner will be selected for each of these awards from the nominations by the independent panel of judges.

From this year’s list of Tourism Star Awards Winners, one “Tourism Superstar” will be selected by the CVB staff. This will take the place of the previous Director’s Award.

This year we are asking that you attach a photo head shot of the person you are nominating. This does not need to be a professional photo, but please be sure it is a close up shot featuring your nominee’s face and that it is in focus and of decent resolution. Photos of nominees will be part of the video playing in the event room as guests arrive and register.

Remember that a Tourism Star Award is about exceeding expectations and our tourism and hospitality workers being tourism ambassadors who are not just doing their typical, everyday duties. Through their performance and actions they are creating situations that result in happy, grateful, surprised and delighted guests that can’t wait to return to Florida’s Paradise Coast. These guests are so “wowed” they want to tell the world how wonderful that special person is that they met during their vacation. They are also people who make the operation of your tourism-related business better, faster, friendlier, more cost-efficient, etc. so that your property is much more pleasing to your guests and to your staff who thoroughly enjoy coming to work each day.

Be sure your nominations are well written and provide specific examples of what makes the nominee outstanding, how they encourage positive views of the destination, and describe with specific examples of how they think outside the box and exceed expectations. Please read the Tips for Nominators document for more hints and examples.

Be sure to invite and bring all your nominees to the Tourism Star Awards luncheon on September 14 at the Hilton Naples!

This year’s luncheon theme isTourism Rocks! We will have a rock and roll music theme throughout to generate excitement and to highlight the fact that tourism rocks this community and is the largest generator of economic impact and employment in Collier County.

Following on the Tourism Rocks! theme, this year our Tourism “Gives Back to the Community” commitment is focused on improving the lives of local children through music. Please bring a gently used or even a new musical instrument that will be donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Collier County.
